Happy New Year to all members and their families.
This will be a big year for The Great Australians with a Federal
Election to contest. The political landscape is wide open for us. There
is a huge undercurrent of discontent with our tax system and the foreign
ownership of our country just waiting for answers. Our Answers.
We now have our Constitution in place giving us the administrative
framework to grow and really make an impact.
The way forward now is simple, We must –
Join new members
Establish “Conveners” for every Federal Seat leading to Branches in
every Federal Seat
Endorse suitable candidates for every Federal Seat and two Senate
Candidates for every State and territory
Finalise the Core Policies document at the upcoming General Assembly
Organise a solid election campaign communicating these Core Policies to
the electorate
We now have three active branches – Fairfax, Singleton and the new Wide
Bay (look at www.widebaythegreataustralians.com.au). Congratulations to
Wide Bay who are supporting our Independent/TGA Candidate Glen Poulton
in the Queensland State Elections on 7 Feb. Glen is our Convenor of
transport policy and is a very able and conscientious member. Please
support him with an email to angelheart@hn.ozemail.com.au or a letter.
Better still, send a wee donation to help him to 12/91 Exeter Street,
Torquay 4655. Wide Bay have called for nominations for their Federal
candidate. Well done President Rod Sengstock and team.
We need your help!! We need a Branch Convener in every Federal Seat
NOW!! to coordinate the formation of a Branch in your area. You would be
named as the point of contact on our website and would co-ordinate
meetings to form a Branch. This is just to help get things going. It is
a temporary job. Please call me if you can do this or if you know anyone
who might volunteer (if asked!).
The General Assembly will be hosted by our active Singleton Branch in
April – details later.

Cumming to keep Austand going and continue to publish OZ NEWS. More
soon.
I joined The Great Australians primarily because I wanted to DO
SOMETHING about the tax system and the foreign ownership of our country.
I know you all joined for the same reason. I invite every one of you to
NOW think what you would like to DO to help in the massive effort needed
to launch our Candidates and policies. Please think of ONE THING you
enjoy DOING and write it down on a piece of paper along with your name
and phone number and post it or email it to me NOW. It might be you
enjoy walking – tell us you would like to deliver pamphlets. It might be
you enjoy talking – tell us you would like to call people to enlist
supporters. It might be you enjoy cooking – tell us you’ll cook the
barbie at the Branch functions. It might be you enjoy computers – tell
us you will keep Branch minutes. Please get involved. We need you –every
one of you.
