We stand to win back our nation with a combination of tax reforms, foreign investment reforms, business and community reforms. We will encourage and organise Australians to support one anothers innovative skills and hard work with our own capital and overseas capital invested on fair conditions, so we can compete in the world economy and win true economic & political freedom for all Australians.
IMMIGRATION
• We recognize the need for strong border control to stop illegal
immigration and “queue jumpers”.
• We recognize the plight of genuine refugees and asylum seekers. Our
policy is to detain all illegal incomers and quickly assess their
status. Genuine refugees will be allowed to stay. Queue jumpers will be
sent back. We will establish a refugee tribunal whose decision will be
final – no appeals will be allowed through our legal system in the
absence of fresh evidence.
• Families with children must be kept separately from adult detention
centres and the families must be housed together in a form of home
detention or foster home preferably with people of their nationality,
giving all freedoms to the children to attend schools and be part of a
normal community.
• We will increase controls and penalties on foreigners overstaying
visas.
• Migrants must become Australian citizens and learn English within two
years or leave
INDIGENOUS AUSTRALIANS
• We will improve the lives of indigenous Australians with jobs, dignity
and support programs for education, sport, housing and business
assistance rather than cash handouts.
• We will support the role of community elders operating within current
laws.
• We oppose a separate nation within a nation. There is only one race –
the human race. There is only one set of rights – human rights. We are
all Australians – all equal.
• We respect indigenous Australians’ rights (and all Australians’
rights) to preserve their individual cultural identity, as an integral
part of Australia’s national identity.
• We support a “salad bowl” of cultures rather than a “melting pot” (per
Tiga Bailes – Aboriginal Business Leader of the Year 2003 and Queensland
Father of the Year 2003).
INFRASTRUCTURE
• We will fight to retain and regain Australian ownership of our
Telecommunications (Telstra), Water, Power, Roads, Railways, Airports,
Shipping, Defence and national infrastructure.
THE INSURANCE NIGHTMARE
• We will stop the USA “suing disease” by legislating
- to restrict the liability of volunteers like life savers and amateur
sports officials for negligence actions,
- to restrict the liability of local councils for negligence in
playgrounds and parks,
- to restrict the liability for charitable institutions and amateur
sporting organisations in fund raising and activities,
- to allow charitable and amateur sporting organisations and councils to
contract with participants and visitors to “voluntarily accept the risk”
• If necessary, we will establish a national underwriting scheme to
ensure competitive insurance policies can be obtained by Councils,
schools, community events, charitable and sporting organisations.
