THE SALE OF TELSTRA

Speaking on the eve of the Governments renewed attempts to introduce a Bill into Federal Parliament to push ahead with the sale of the balance of Telstra, President of federally registered political party - The Great Australians - Mr John Rivett said

"We remain opposed. The Government say they need to sell Telstra to retire public debt. The root of this problem is the total sell out of the Australian people caused by the fact that foreign companies escape paying Income Tax in Australia by virtue of the Double Tax Conventions."

Mr Rivett called on the Government to terminate the Double Tax Conventions, start collecting Income Tax from the foreign companies operating here and use that to retire public debt.

We have just compiled a graph showing the Personal Income Tax Rip Off in Australia and posted this on our website www.greataustralians.org.

It shows that about 40% of the TOTAL taxes collected in Australia by all levels of Government in the past 4 years were – yes –you guessed it – PERSONAL INCOME TAX

The latest Australian Bureau of Statistics figures show that individuals in Australia are now paying an average of $11,029 per man woman & child per annum and the foreign multi nationals escape TAX FREE – courtesy of the Liberal and Labour Parties.”

They have sold our Bank, our Airline and our Airports. NOW we are told, we have to sell our Telstra!

Wake up Australia!
